Name: Mackenzie Whitehorse
Nicknames: Mac
Gender: Female
Age: 30
Height: 5'6"
Sexuality: Straight
Ethnicity: Shoshone Native American/Caucasian
Occupation: Lawyer
Personality: Mackenzie, or Mac as she is known to her closest friends, is a very driven woman who never settles for anything less than perfection. She keeps people at arm's length, even her friends, and especially men. Mac has a reputation around the legal system as a hardass, difficult to get along with, but she always gets the job done. She has a high success rate, and her services don't come cheap. Mac walks into a room like she owns it. She is very business oriented and a fighter. As a woman and a native american, she has always fought harder than others to get to the same place, and this has trickled into her personal life as well. She has very few friends and never dates. She can't afford a committed relationship that would distract her from the ultimate prize: District Attorney.
History: Mac did not have a happy childhood. Her father was half Shoshone, her mother Caucasian. They ran a foster home, but it wasn't out of love or a need to help children. Each child was a paycheck, nothing more, nothing less. Mac's mother was drunk more often than not, turning a blind eye to her husband's affections for those in their care as long as he stayed away from Mac. Except he didn't, threatening her to keep quiet. This went on for years, until one night, Mackenzie's mom walked in on him. She flew into a rage the likes of which Mackenzie had never seen. Her mother ended up killing her father that night. Unable to afford a good lawyer, she was convicted of murder and Mac was sent to the foster system her parents had so abused.
The rest of Mac's childhood, she was shuffled between foster homes, never staying anywhere for more than a year or two. Her mother died in prison of liver cancer when she was sixteen, Mac never went to visit her. Growing up, Mac saw all too many children with stories similar to her own, or worse. This sparked a deep anger in her. The system was flawed, and the children were the ones to suffer for it. She decided she had to do something about it. Applying herself to school, Mac was awarded a full ride scholarship to a good university upon graduating high school. Here, she honed the drive and unwillingness to compromise for less that defines her today. She graduated summa cum laude and was granted a scholarship to the law school of her choice. While at school, she didn't make many friends, with one notable exception, Edna Lorens, a mild mannered bookworm Mac took an instant liking to, something she never did. She tried to stay close and keep up on her, but after graduation, she found it nearly impossible, as her career was taking off. She worked hard, gaining a reputation in her field and becoming a highly sought after child defense lawyer.
